/api/data/urban_indicators
UN-Habitat indicators for Ghana on housing, slums, water and sanitation access, transport and urban demography. Sourced from UN-Habitat, via HDX (CC BY-IGO). 522 records.
/api/data/uneca_population_migration
UN Economic Commission for Africa indicators for Ghana on population structure, fertility, urbanisation, migrant stock and remittances. Sourced from UN Economic Commission for Africa, via HDX (CC BY-IGO). 40 records.
/api/data/service_access
For every mapped Ghanaian town and village, the straight-line distance in kilometres to the nearest health facility, pharmacy, school, university, market, bank or ATM, fuel station, water point and police station — and the name of the nearest one in each case. Distances are great-circle, not road distance, so treat them as a lower bound; both the settlements and the services come from OpenStreetMap, so a long distance can mean a remote village or an unmapped facility. Compiled by API Ghana from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). 7241 records.
/api/data/region_profiles
One row for each of Ghana's 16 regions: land area, district count, population by sex, density, counts of schools, health facilities, banks, markets and other mapped infrastructure, service provision per 10,000 people, and mean annual rainfall and vegetation index where the satellite series covers the region. Compiled from the sources named in the source column. 16 records.
/api/data/region_boundaries
The outline of each of Ghana's 16 regions as WKT geometry in a single column, with land area, centroid and the geoBoundaries identifier. Outlines are simplified to about 200 metres — right for mapping, for clipping and for deciding which region a point falls in, but not a surveyed boundary and not for settling a land question. Sourced from geoBoundaries ADM1, CC BY 4.0. 16 records.
/api/data/refugee_population
Forcibly displaced and stateless people in Ghana at each year end, by country of origin and population type — refugees, asylum seekers, returnees and others of concern. Sourced from UNHCR, via HDX (CC BY-IGO). 1329 records.
/api/data/population_projections
Ghana's population estimated back to 1960 and projected forward to 2050, by five-year age band and sex, with fertility, mortality, dependency ratios and the urban and rural split. What every long-range plan needs as its denominator. 187 series covering 1960-2050. Sourced from World Bank Open Data, CC BY 4.0. 15805 records.
/api/data/district_profiles
One row for each of Ghana's 260 districts, bringing together what the rest of the catalogue holds about it: land area, population by sex, population density, counts of schools, health facilities, pharmacies, banks, markets, hotels, fuel stations, telecom masts and more, service provision per 10,000 people, and mean annual rainfall and vegetation index. Counts are exact — every mapped record is assigned to a district by point-in-polygon against these same boundaries. Population and the satellite series are matched by name and are NULL where no match could be made: the official population file is still on Ghana's pre-2018 set of 216 districts, so 184 of the 260 districts here carry a population figure and the rest do not. Those figures also sum about 5% below the regional totals, for the same reason. Compiled from the sources named in the source column. 260 records.
/api/data/district_boundaries
The outline of each of Ghana's 260 districts as WKT geometry in a single column, with its region, land area, centroid and the geoBoundaries identifier. These are the same outlines every mapped dataset here is assigned against, so a point that this catalogue says is in Ga East falls inside this polygon. Simplified to about 200 metres: right for mapping and spatial joins, not a surveyed boundary. Sourced from geoBoundaries ADM2, CC BY 4.0. 260 records.
/api/data/displacement_events
Displacement inside Ghana as it is recorded: what caused it — flood, storm, conflict — where, when, and how many people moved. Sourced from Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre, via HDX (CC BY-IGO). 14 records.
/api/data/commuting_zones
Ghana's commuting zones — the areas within which people actually travel to work, derived from aggregated movement data rather than from administrative lines. Labour market catchments for siting, staffing and service planning. Sourced from Data for Good at Meta, via HDX (CC BY 4.0). 13 records.
/api/data/notable_buildings
Buildings in Ghana with a record of their own — towers, stadiums, churches, mosques, hotels, government offices and houses of note — with the year built, height, floor count and architect where known. 2795 records.
