/api/data/region_profiles
One row for each of Ghana's 16 regions: land area, district count, population by sex, density, counts of schools, health facilities, banks, markets and other mapped infrastructure, service provision per 10,000 people, and mean annual rainfall and vegetation index where the satellite series covers the region. Compiled from the sources named in the source column. 16 records.
/api/data/research_institutions_output
Every Ghanaian university, hospital, institute and company that appears as an affiliation on published research — 171 of them — with how many works it has produced, how often they have been cited, its h-index and i10-index, and citations per work. Sourced from OpenAlex, CC0. 171 records.
/api/data/research_output_by_field
What Ghanaian research is about: the number of published works by field of study, across every year OpenAlex holds. Sourced from OpenAlex, CC0. 26 records.
/api/data/research_output_by_year
How much research Ghanaian institutions published each year from 1853 to 2027, and how much of it is open access. A handful of works carry a publication year that cannot be right — a stray nineteenth-century date, or one in the future — and they are left as the source has them rather than quietly removed. Sourced from OpenAlex, CC0. 144 records.
/api/data/retail_brands
Every brand, chain and operator with more than one mapped outlet in Ghana — banks, fuel stations, mobile money agents, supermarkets, pharmacies, hotels and restaurants — with how many outlets each has, how many regions and districts it reaches, and which regions those are. Compiled across every OpenStreetMap layer in this catalogue, counting each site once. Outlet counts are a floor, not a register: OpenStreetMap records a brand where a mapper knew it, so a chain may have more branches than appear here. Compiled by API Ghana from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). 327 records.
/api/data/sdg_indicators
Ghana's position against the Sustainable Development Goal indicators the World Bank tracks, across all seventeen goals, year by year. 386 series covering 1990-2020. Sourced from World Bank Open Data, CC BY 4.0. 6159 records.
/api/data/sea_level_monthly
Monthly mean sea level measured at Ghana's two tide gauges — Takoradi from 1929 to August 2012 and Tema from 1963 to September 1982 — in millimetres, with the number of days missing from each month and the quality flag the record carries. Heights are on each station's own Revised Local Reference datum, set roughly seven metres below mean sea level so values stay positive: the trend at a station is meaningful, a comparison of absolute heights between stations is not. Both are closed records: no quality-controlled Ghanaian tide-gauge data after 2012 is published under terms that allow reuse (the IOC's raw near-real-time feed from the gauges forbids commercial use). Sourced from the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level, freely available with acknowledgement. 1027 records.
/api/data/service_access
For every mapped Ghanaian town and village, the straight-line distance in kilometres to the nearest health facility, pharmacy, school, university, market, bank or ATM, fuel station, water point and police station — and the name of the nearest one in each case. Distances are great-circle, not road distance, so treat them as a lower bound; both the settlements and the services come from OpenStreetMap, so a long distance can mean a remote village or an unmapped facility. Compiled by API Ghana from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). 7241 records.
/api/data/social_protection_atlas
The World Bank's ASPIRE indicators for Ghana: coverage, adequacy and benefit incidence of social assistance, social insurance and labour market programmes, by income quintile. 1404 series covering 2005-2016. Sourced from World Bank Open Data, CC BY 4.0. 2729 records.
/api/data/storm_tracks
Tracks of tropical storms recorded near Ghana: position, wind speed and pressure at each observation, from the international best-track archive. Sourced from NOAA IBTrACS, via HDX (CC BY-IGO). 10775 records.
/api/data/surface_water_area
Surface water area in square kilometres for each Ghanaian district, month by month, measured from satellite — the seasonal rise and fall of rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Nationally this tracks Lake Volta, which moves by thousands of square kilometres between the wet and dry seasons. Sourced from Action Against Hunger, via HDX (CC BY-IGO). 18460 records.
/api/data/sustainable_energy
Access to electricity and clean cooking in Ghana, urban and rural, the renewable share of energy consumption, energy intensity and investment in the energy sector. 11 series covering 1990-2016. Sourced from World Bank Open Data, CC BY 4.0. 277 records.

/api/data/paye_bands
Ghana's graduated income tax bands for individuals' monthly chargeable income, and the flat rate for non-residents, with the date each took effect and the Ghana Revenue Authority notice it comes from. Chargeable income is pay after the employee's SSNIT contribution and other reliefs. Kept by hand from GRA's published tables. 8 records.
/api/data/pension_parameters
How SSNIT works out an old-age pension: the months of contributions that qualify, the pension right they earn, how it grows with each further year up to its maximum, the retirement ages and the minimum pension for new pensioners. The pension is the pension right times the average of the member's three best years' salaries. One row per rule, each with its source. 8 records.

One row per rule, each with its source. 7 records.

Since 1 January 2026 (Value Added Tax Act, 2025, Act 1151) VAT, NHIL and the GETFund levy are all charged on the value of the supply, 20% in all; the 1% COVID-19 levy and the flat rate schemes were abolished. 3 records.
