A Ghana number is nine digits after the country code, +233. Written at home it starts with a 0, so ten digits in all; written from abroad the 0 is dropped. Systems that send texts or check numbers use E.164: +233 and the nine digits, with no spaces.
The first three digits after the 0 say which network the number was issued on: Telecel, AT, MTN. Numbers can move between networks and keep their number, so the prefix shows the network a number started on.
